COMMUNICATE WITH SUCCESS

Our Franchise Spotlight for this month has what it takes to continuously build their success. Eighteen years ago, Shawn Huguet answered an ad in his local newspaper about purchasing a Jani-King commercial cleaning franchise. At the time, all Shawn knew was that from a young age, he wanted to own his own business and have control over his own freedom.

Shawn and his wife Carrie are residents of Lafayette, Louisiana, along with their five children. Being married for over 28 years and working through the ups and downs of life together, the Huguets have been able to come together, persevere, and build their business to where it is today. Mr. Huguet says, "At the time of purchasing our franchise, I worked in road construction. My wife and I both prayed about our options and decided that we were going to purchase a franchise. I started out with two new accounts and two employees from my construction crew."

While keeping their focus on faith, family, and their new business, the Huguets were instilling a strong foundation for what their business would become. According to Shawn, "After just a year, I was able to quit my road construction job and work solely on my business! Looking back now, it was during a difficult time in our lives that God pulled us through and gave us this great opportunity."

Shawn goes on to explain that his favorite part about being a Franchise Owner is that he has the freedom of flexibility and that he gets to help people along the way. When asked if he has any advice to give a new Franchise Owner, Shawn stated, "Make communication a priority! There are several types of communication, but the best form is also the oldest: face-to-face meetings."

The Huguets have exhibited dedication and hard work from the beginning, and now they are reaping the sweet benefits. Keeping communication at the top of their list helps them continuously build trust and deeper relationships with their clients, employees, God, and even each other. For Shawn and Carrie, keeping their faith and dedication front and center has not always been the easiest. However, by always working on their own progress, the Huguets are still rising towards more and more successes.
