MAGIC IN MISSISSIPPI

     Our Franchise Spotlight for this month built herself a legacy. Veronica Lewis, a franchise owner from Mississippi, has been in the Jani-King business since 2006. Over the past 16 years, Veronica has built not only a successful business for herself but also a beautiful life with her husband, Robert, their children, and grandchildren. Before she became her own boss, Veronica attended Jackson State University, where she majored in business. Before she purchased her franchise, she was previously employed by a large power company. After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, she knew she needed to make a change in her career. She was reading the newspaper one Sunday and noticed an ad for Jani-King Commercial Cleaning. With her passion for cleaning, she knew that this opportunity was the one for her.

     Veronica says of being a franchise owner, "My favorite part about being a franchise owner is my flexible schedule. When I was a single mom, I needed to make my schedule fit into the lives of teenagers. I was able to make it to Friday night football games, track meets, and prom, of course! I’ve been able to provide for my family at a level I never imagined."

     In early 2021, Veronica was asked to help with a COVID-19 clean for a large school. She did not hesitate to help, regardless of the 72-mile drive. Once a few days passed, she was asked to consider working in the area, and she accepted the challenge. After working tirelessly and never losing focus, she was given both locations, and she completed the year with great success. Later that year, Veronica was given an even bigger challenge. She took on a troubled account in the casino industry, which came with employees and seven days of service. Veronica is currently still servicing this account, and they have nothing but words of praise for her.

     Chance Mercante, Regional Director, says of Veronica, "We have received much praise from her customers. One of her toughest customers has said nothing but great things since the start of the school year. Veronica is always on top of anything that needs to be addressed and does a fantastic job of communicating. The hard work that Veronica and her team have been doing has not gone unnoticed. She has worked extremely hard this year and continues to be a Jani-King brand ambassador. We are truly blessed to have her in our SE Mississippi and MS Gulf Coast regions."

    Veronica suggests, "Have a reason or a why! I put my faith in God first. My family is my reason why, and I am building a legacy. My franchise is the tool I use to achieve all the goals I set. Be willing to accept the small accounts, and the larger ones will come along in time. Finally, your regional office is designed to build your business…make appointments to discuss your goals, decide how much you can handle, set a time line for each level you would like to reach, and ask for help when you need it. My success is based on completion. I always try to perform at a level of excellence. I never accept a challenge and leave it undone. I trusted the process, I did the work, and now I reap the benefits. I am truly grateful to Jani-King."
