This month’s Franchise Spotlight is a force to be reckoned with. Ashley Cox from Jani-King of Mobile hit the ground running in December of 2021 and hasn’t looked back since! Not only is Ashley a dedicated business owner, but she is also a devoted mother who loves to travel and spend time with her family. Ashley decided to become a franchise owner in this industry based on her years of cleaning service experience. She says, "I was always commended for the services that I provided while working for others, and I decided that I could venture out on my own to create a business for myself; something to pass along to my children."
Ashley went on to state that being able to set her own path and provide financial independence for herself and her children is her favorite part of being a franchise owner. She also recognizes how it feels to be a female business owner during this time. She says, "It feels awesome to be a young female business owner, especially a minority female business owner, who is able to provide jobs to others. We are all here on this earth to serve and assist others in some form, so I especially love to know that my clients and employees are satisfied."
Ms. Cox puts hard work and time into running her business, and running it well. David Wright, Regional Director of Mobile, says of Ashley, "She took on three urgent care facilities – two of them being over two hours away from the office – and has them as raving fans. Ashley handles every one of her accounts with the utmost respect, and all of her clients love her. She has taken over five troubled accounts and has successfully turned them into satisfied and happy customers. Ashley is dedicated to Jani-King and is also determined to grow her franchise with her great customer service. She is a great example of Jani-King’s three PPP’s — people, pride, and performance. I am very proud watching the growth of her business and look forward to many years with her."
Ashley shows her dedication to her business and to Jani-King every day, through both her actions and her words. When she initially started as a franchise owner, her goal was to perfect her craft and learn as much as she could about the profession from her peers in the field. Although she has only been a franchise owner for six months, Ashley receives positive feedback from every contact, which lets her know that things are moving in the right direction.
Ashley says of her success, "What has made me successful thus far is the personable connection that I make when interacting with my clients and employees. Although some may see us as simply the janitorial service provider when starting out, I like to build a good rapport and do as much as I can to meet their needs. Therefore, should any issue arise, they trust me enough to know that I will correct them immediately. This was not an easy journey to begin with, and when the road has become bumpy, I have had to reflect on why I chose to become a franchise owner, and that has provided me with the ability to keep pushing forward through those difficult bumps along the way. I can honestly say I feel I have finally found my purpose because I love what I do, I am great at what I do, and I do it effortlessly!"
